Emergency Medivac From Sea Princess

A 66 year old woman was airlifted from Princess Cruises, Sea Princess, this morning after developing a renal condition on board.

The ship was approximately 86 nautical miles off the coast of Hamilton Island and a RACQ CQ Helicopter was tasked to winch the woman from the ship and was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital at around  8am local time.

Sea Princess was two days into a 10 day cruise from Brisbane to Papaua New Guinea when the passenger took ill.

It is understood the woman is in a stable condition in hospital, whilst Sea Princess is continuing on her cruise.
