A senior member of FIFA, the World governing body for Football (soccer), Hector Trujillo, was arrested on Friday 4th December on board Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream.

The arrest was made whilst the ship was docked in Port Canaveral, Florida and was in connection with the alleged  corruption scandal that has hit the headlines which has seen arrests being made including several high profile officials from FIFA.

Trujillo, who was the General Secretary for the Guatemala FA, was also a Judge in the Constitutional Court in Guatemala.

The 62 year old had been holidaying with his grandchildren when US Custom and Borders Protection arrived at his cabin on board the Disney ship.

He is part of 16 defendants from FIFA who have been arrested this year in connection with corruption and bribes.
