The ship was supposed to have been completed a year ago, March 2015 but a series of delays, including fires, has resulted in the push back of the delivery of AidaPrima.
The ship is currently undertaking final checks at the shipyard in Japan and is readying herself for the voyage to Europe.
The naming ceremony will take place in Hamburg on the 7th May and will coincide with the 827th Anniversary Celebrations of the Port of Hamburg.
The 125,000 ton ship will be the largest ship in the Aida fleet and is due to depart on her maiden voyage on the 30th April. A uniquely designed ship with a flat bow and no bulbous bow, AidaPrima adds a different dimension to the modern cruise ship.
A second ship in the class is currently under construction but she is still officially yet to be named.
