Fire On Norwegian Joy Halts Construction

A fire broke out on board Norwegian Joy at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany yesterday, which resulted in construction of the ship being temporarily halted.

It is believed that the manifold caught fire and smoke spread inside.  This resulted in the fire alarm being activated and all workers were evacuated from Building Hall II until the fire was extinguished.

Thankfully no injuries were occurred and the fire was quickly extinguished. It is believed that the damage caused is minimal and that the delivery date of the ship will not be affected. She is due for delivery in Spring 2017.
