Carnival Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship, Carnival Vista has officially been named by Miss USA Deshauna Barber in New York on Friday evening. The naming ceremony comes a day after Carnival Vista completed her first Transatlantic crossing to the US after spending her maiden summer in the Mediterranean after her completion.
Deshauna is Carnival Vista’s Godmother who is the first serving woman in the US Military to actually win the title of Miss USA named the latest Carnival ship in a ceremony that was attended by Micky Arison, Chairman of Carnival Corp, Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp and Christine Duffy, CEO and President of Carnival Cruise Line. They are part of the collaboration between Carnival Cruise Line and Operation Homefront who are a non-profit organisation that helps support members of the US armed forces and their families. The program is called Honor. Family. Fun, and the aim is to raise as much funds as possible for the organisation.
Tonight on board will see festivities continue for the military family guests on board and will also see a concert by Carrie Underwood on pier side as the highlight of the evening.
