P&O Cruises Plan For 180th Anniversary Year To Be Full Of ‘Surprises’

2017 will see P&O Cruises celebrate their 180th anniverary and the cruise line have promised there will be a lot of ‘surprises’ throughout the year to celebrate this tremendous milestone.

First will be Aurora’s World Cruise. Departing on 9th January 2017 which will see her navigate east and will echo some of the mail routes from the 19th century ships which helped establish Pennisular and Oriental Steam Navigational  Company.

Throughout the year, there will be special promotions, special events both onboard and ashore, gala dinners with commemorative menus and also special celebrity collaberations.

Guests and passengers on the ships will be treated to different treat and included within P&O’s plans are seven exclusive celebration packages which are full of goodies, including champagne, chocolates and flowers and also celebratory experiences such as dinner for two at a Select Dining venue and  treatments in the Spa, plus many more goodies and experiences.

Amongst the 180th Anniversary celebrations, Adonia will be re-joining the P&O fleet in June 2017 after her operations with Fathom cease. It brings a small ship option to the fleet yet again and one which was popular with a legion of P&O fans before she headed to Fathom.

As for a repeat of the fleet being together in Southampton at the same time again, well that remains to be seen. With the fleet set to increase to 8 with the re-introduction of Adonia next June, it would appear extremely unlikely that the fleet will meet all at once again in Southampton like 2012.
