No Newbuild For P&O Australia: Carnival Splendor To Be Transferred Instead

P&O Australia have announced they have shelved plans to build a new ship for their fleet and will instead recieve Carnival Splendor from Carnival Cruise Line  in late 2019.

With no new build for P&O Australia, Carnival have announced there will be a third Vista class ship for Carnival Cruise Line instead.

The name of the new ship, homeport and her itineraries have yet to be announced but the ship will enter service in 2019.

Carnival Vista, the first in its class, entered service for Carnival earlier this year and currently her sister ship, Carnival Horizon, is under construction in Italy and she will be entering service in March 2018.

Carnival Splendor will be the biggest ship ever to sail for P&O Australia when she transfers in late 2019. At 113,000grt and 952 feet long,  she can accomodate  3012 passengers with a crew compliment of  1150.
