August 31st 2017 will see Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 depart Southampton for New York for what will be her second annual Transatlantic Fashion Week crossing
On board will be headlining designer, Julien MacDonald. fashion historian and author Colin McDowell, and fashion consultant Gail Sackloff. They will be joined by icon of fashion, Iris Apfel for the crossing. The arrival of Queen Mary 2 in New York will coincide with the start of Fashion Week in ‘The Big Apple’.
At 95, Iris Apfel is well established in the fashion industry and is well known for her colourful sense style. She has been involved in high end marketing campaigns and adverts for the likes of Macys, MAC, Kate Spade and Swarovski to name just a few. Whilst on board Queen Mary 2, she will be performing a special Q&A session and also introducing a screening of a documentary about her, and will show off her fashion, style, creativity and sense of free spirit.
Speaking about her forthcoming appearance on Queen Mary 2, Iris was delighted to be joining Fashion Week on board Cunard’s flagship and cannot wait to experience life on board.
“I’ve lived quite a life of fashion and can’t wait to experience style at sea!. I look forward to being inspired by the elegance and glamour of the occasion and life onboard, especially the formal nights on my voyage across the Atlantic.”
With the line up announced for the Transatlantic Fashion Week in 2017, Cunard were delighted that the distinguised guests, included Iris, were able to be joining for the week’s crossing.
