Today marked a Royal Rendevous ‘Down Under’ as both Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth were both in Sydney.
Both Cunarders are currently on ther respective world cruises and so met up for the day in the Australian port.

Queen Mary 2, the flagship and largest ship in the Cunard fleet, was the first to arrive in Sydney this morning when she passed Sydney Heads and berthing at Circular Quay at around 6.20am with Queen Elizabeth following shortly after and anchoring at Athol Buoy, close to Taronga Zoo.
Queen Mary 2 is scheduled to leave Sydney this evening (Australian time) and will embark on a 5 night segment of her world cruise and will make maiden calls at Hobart and Port Arthur. Meanwhile Queen Elizabeth is scheduled to stay overnight in Sydney and will move to berth at Circular Quay shortly after the departure of her bigger fleetmate
Both ships will again meet together on the 8th May in Southampton when they arrive back from their world cruises. Their other fleetmate, Queen Victoria, who is currently on her world cruise, will arrive a few days earlier on the 5th May.
