Queen Elizabeth To Go ‘Down Under’ In 2019

Cunard have confirmed that Queen Elizabeth will be based for two months out of Australia in 2019 as part of her world cruise season.

Queen Elizabeth will be fresh from a refit in 2018 and will be based in Australian waters from February to April 2019.

Offering numerous options, Queen Elizabeth will operate two roundtrip sailings to New Zealand from Sydney and Melbourne.  Also, there will be three roundtrip sailings, two departing Melbourne and one Sydney that will offer visitis to Tasmania too.

Departing on 10th February, Queen Elizabeth will depart from Melbourne on a seven night sailing to Tasmania and Southern Australia, with calls to Kangaroo Island, Port Adelaide and Hobart before arriving back to Melbourne on 17th February.

She will then undertake a 3 night sailing to Sydney and will arrive on the 20th February.

Queen Elizabeth then undertakes sailing to New Zealand on 20th February with a 12 night itinerary before she arrives back to Sydney on 4th March.

A five night cruise from Sydney to Tasmania departing 4th March will see calls to Hobart and Port Arthur before arriving back into Sydney on the 9th March.

The youngest Cunard ship in the fleet will then offer a one way cruise from Sydney to Melbourne on 9th March and will include a call into Burnie on the 11th March before arriving in Melbourne on the 12th.

She will then undertake two final itineraries in Australian waters before making her way back towards Southampton. A six night offering to Tasmania on 12th March with calls to Hobart and Port Arthur before departing on a 12 night sailing to New Zealand from Melbourne on 18th March, returning to Melbourne on 30th March.

Queen Elizabeth will then make one final call to Sydney on 1st April before making the start of her long trek back towards Southampton via Japan.

This will be the first time ever that a Cunard ship has been based out of Australia for that length of time and further enhances Cunard’s position in Australia.

Full itineraries and prcies for these sailings will be released on 14th March and will go on sale 30th March.
