Sea Trials Completed For Silver Muse

Silversea have announced the completion of sea trials for their latest ship, Silver Muse.

The 40,700grt ship, which will be able to accomodate 596 guests, currently under construction at Fincantieri in Genoa, underwent successful tests off Genoa, which included speed trials, vibration, noise and propulsion tests.

Roberto Martinoli, CEO at Silversea Cruises was delighted at what he described as the latest milestone for their new ship. He said:

“Rigorous assessments were conducted from Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa where the ship is currently under construction,” said the company in a statement. “The ultra-luxury ship underwent extensive speed, vibration, noise, endurance and propulsion tests with Silver Muse successfully passing all assessments in accordance with international rules and regulations. The successful completion of sea trials marks yet another significant milestone in Silver Muse’s development. In just a matter of weeks we will be welcoming guests from around the world on board the newest member of the Silversea family, with our new flagship set to offer the highest expression of excellence in elegance and comfort at sea,”.

In an ever increasing fleet, the additon of Silver Muse will take their fleet size to 9 and will as described by Silversea “will once again significantly raise the bar in the ultra-luxury cruise market with a wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience, while satisfying the uncompromising requirements for comfort, service, and quality of the world’s most discerning travellers.

Silver Muse will depart on a pre-inaugural sailing from Monte Carlo on 10th April. In an eight night itinerary, she will visit Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Porto Mahon, Porto Torres, Livorno, Portofino before returning to Monte Carlo.  She will then undertake her 14 night maiden voyage to Villefranche on 19th April where she will visit Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Trapani, Valletta, Taormina, Amalfi, Sorrento, Civitavecchia (Rome) Livorno before arriving in Villefranche on the 2nd May.
