TUI Discovery will be based for the very first time from the UK for summer 2018 after Thomson unveiled their Summer 2018 itineraries today.
TUI Discovery will embark on 8 itineraries from Newcastle beginning in May 2018. These itineraries will include the Norwegian Fjords and the Baltic.
She will then leave for Southampton in September where she will undertake 4 itineraries including the Baltic, the Norwegian Fjords, a new itinerary called ‘European Experience’ which will visit Germany, Belgium and France, with an overnight onboard stay in Amsterdam and also ‘Seeking The Northern Lights’ where guests will have the opportunity to witness the natural phenomenon from the most northernly city in Norway.
Richard Sofer, Managing director of Thomson Cruises, was looking forward to TUI Discovery being based within the UK over the Summer period in 2018. He said:

The move to bring TUI Discovery to both the north and the south of the U.K. also shows our commitment to offering choice and flexibility to our customers, giving them the opportunity to sail from a region close to home, as well as offering flights to other destinations from local airports.”
Both TUI Discovery 2 and the latest ship to join the Thomson fleet, currently sailing as Mein Schiff 1 for TUI, will be based from Palma in 2018. As will Thomson Dream.
Thomson Celebration will be based from Dubrovnik for the entire summer season in 2018 and will offer what they call ‘port intensive’ adult only Venetian Vistas itinerary which allows guests the chance to be in a new port each day without the need of having a sea day. They will visit Montenegro; Korcula, Croatia; Zadar, Croatia; Venice, Trieste, and Split.
Thomson Celebration will also be offering two new sailings with ‘Sail Three Seas’ itinerary calling at Valetta, Messina, Kefalonia, Igoumensita and Kotor. The second new itinerary will be ‘Greek Mystique’ and ports of call will include Chania, Piraeus, Kalamata, Corfu Town and Kotor.
Thomson Cruises will also see the addtion of 15 new ports of call, including Monaco, Ancona and Skiathos Town, and 10 other brand new itineraries to their summer 2018 schedules.
The new itineraries will go on sail on 20th April.
