Nieuw Statendam Keel Laying Ceremony At Fincantieri’s Marghera Yard

Today saw the keel laying ceremony take place for Holland America Line’s second ‘Pinnacle’ Class ship, Nieuw Statendam.

The first block of the new ship was part of  the central section, measuring 11.3 meters long, 34.8 wide and weighing around 260 tons,

Nieuw Statendam is scheduled to join her older sister, Koningsdam, in the Holland America fleet in November 2018.

Measuring 99,500grt and capacity for 2650 passengers, she will join Koningsdam as the largest cruise ships to be constructed for Holland America Line.
