Norwegian Cruise Line have announced that the musical ‘Jersey Boys’ is coming to Norwegian Bliss, along with a few other features.
Jersey Boys has been such a global hit on the stage as it charts the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Passengers will be able to enjoy hits such as ‘Oh What A Night!’, ‘Walk Like a Man’ and ‘Working My Way Back To You’ when the musical debuts on Norwegian Bliss in 2018.
Along with that, Norwegian Cruise Line have commisioned a musical under the direction of Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Warren Carlyle and will pay homage to the the music and culture of Cuba with costumes designed by famed Cuban American fashion designer, Isabel Toledo.
Also in Alibi, there will be a special area of seating which is selected for ‘Prohibition-themed cocktail hour and show. This will be a special musical called ‘Happy Prohibition Hour’ where the performers will be in period costumes to perform their musical routine. Passengers are able to dress up in the period dress and special ‘Prohibition’ cocktails will be served. For this experience though, there will be a surcharge of $20.
On board Norwegian Bliss, there will be a new comedy and night club named Alibi. The venue will combine the elements of staging a comedy club in the evenings twice each evening, 6 times a week with 1 family friendly set and a adult set. The venue will then turn into a sea of LED lights and music to the tunes of the resident DJ.
Other highlights of Norwegian Bliss will include The Cavern Club, a carbon copy of the venue in Liverpool where the Beatles became famous in the 1960’s. Retro style disco music and tribute bands will play there during the week with a Beatles theme being the main characteristic of the venue.
Other features will include the two deck Haven Obeservation Lounge on decks 17 and 18 where guests in the Haven can relax and unwind whilst savouring the fantastic panoramic views,
On deck 15, there will be an Observation Lounge where all guests can gain access to and enjoy stunning panoramic vistas out to sea and the surrounding areas whilst in port.
Norwegian Bliss will measure 167,800grt, 1082ft long, a beam of 136ft and will be able to accomodate 4004 passengers in double occupancy.
In Summer 2018, Norwegian Bliss will be homeported in Alaska and will undertake 7 night cruises from Seattle to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, and scenic glacier cruising. She will then move to Miami for the winter season and depart on cruises to the Caribbean following a 5 night Pacific Coastal cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles and then a 14 night re-positioning cruise from Los Angeles to Miami via the Panama Canal with calls to Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera), Costa Rica; and Cartagena, Colombia.
